Yoga And The Creative Business Mind

Workout fads come and go, but virtually no other exercise program is as enduring and mind-opening as yoga. Heck, yoga has been around for more than 5,000 years!

While some people think yoga is just about posing in positions or “looking sexy” while working out, yoga does more than that, and does more than just burn calories and tone muscles. It’s a total mind-body workout that combines strengthening and stretching poses with deep breathing and meditation / relaxation. Yoga helps open your mind up to a peaceful state, so that you can concentrate on your inner thoughts.

P1010084It’s these inner thoughts that are helping countless entrepreneurs, such as inventor Patricia Darquea, to be more creative and have more energy to run their successful companies.

Patricia, who is the CEO of ShadyFace (shadyface.com) and invented the first ever sunshade product that helps protect individuals from the sun while at the beach or in a park, was first introduced to yoga a few years ago at a resort in Cabo San Lucas where free classes were being offered beachside. “It left me with such a great feeling after trying it out that when I got back to the States I had to keep doing it,” Patricia tells Asana Journal.

Since her time in Cabo, Patricia has turned into an active yoga participant – finding a love of Hatha Yoga – and she gives it some of the credit for being able to remain positive and run her successful company. Patricia explains to us further…

“Throughout the years Yoga has provided me with inspiration. It has opened my mind for positive thinking via meditation for the success of my ShadyFace Sunshade Brand. Early morning Yoga has given me a way to self reflect positive energy when stress and complications arise in business as a company owner. Manufacturing a brand is mentally and financially stressful, so when I get up early in the morning I have my time… my time to decompress before taking on the day. Yoga has taught me to project a inner peace and calmness when working with my staff, customers or through our various business meetings. We all have a “aura” around us which some say can reflect either positive or negative intuitions. When employees look for guidance, there has to be positive inspiration for them to excel at their best levels. Being that motivations or them creates success and this success is what I’ve taught myself through Yoga and to continue with optimism for the continuing success for my ShadyFace Sunshades Brand.”

Today more than ever, as stated by Patricia, in a world of increasing information overload, we need focus to achieve success. Yoga teaches single pointed focus which over time, enables you to enhance your memory, clarity, brainpower, and concentration. Practice yoga with patience and patience is what you get back. As the old saying goes, “you get what you give.” And in the world of business, putting a great product out there, and running a well balanced team of employees, will only get your great results aka success!
