TRAINING HARD WITH HOLLYWOOD ACTRESS SONIA ROCKWELL!

Hollywood actress Sonia Rockwell knows a thing or two about keeping fit and looking her best. The young star has had countless roles in television shows and movies such as The Bounce Back, Spread, American Crime, MacGyver, How I Met Your Mother and Scandal… and she always looks her best on-screen & off!

From yoga to intense weight training, while maintaining a healthy diet, Asana Journal caught up with Sonia at her home in Hollywood, California to learn more about her daily routines, working with celebrity trainers and how she continues to keep fit while working on-screen…

  1. How important is an active, healthy lifestyle to you?

Staying active and healthy is a part of who I am. I grew up an athlete, I was started training in gymnastics at seven years old, so most of my life I have been accustomed to pushing giochi gonfiabili my body to the limits in an active lifestyle. I actually enjoy it, I feel healthier and have more energy when I am exercising daily and eating healthy. I find people who choose health and fitness as a part of their lifestyle very attractive.

  1. What types of yoga and fitness activities do you do?

Right now, I am training with celebrity trainer Rich Minzer, we are doing intense weight training, to get my body exactly where I want it. A lot of booty blasting. It is something I have never done before and with a healthy diet, I am seeing rapid results. I know I’m latin, but several of my friends are convinced I’ve gotten a butt implant, which is a huge compliment that my weight training is paying off.

  1. What is your regular fitness routine/schedule like?

I do intense weight training  3-4 days a week and the rest of the days, I make sure I do 40 minutes of cardio on a high incline. I make sure my diet has a healthy amount of protein and I eat a lot of vegetables, and drink a ton of water.

  1. How has yoga and fitness changed your life?

I have more energy, my body is lean, I am flexible, and to be honest, I feel like my skin is healthier. I drink a lot of water which helps with my energy and skin. With fitness and yoga, I feel like I have a child’s energy, feels amazing.

  1. When was the first time you tried yoga and how did it make you feel?

The first time I tried yoga was hilarious, it was actually in a hot yoga room. It was so intense and I was sweating like crazy, and didn’t know if I would be able to get through it. Now, I love it, I couldn’t believe how flexible I could be with the help of the intense heat. It was definitely an experience I will always remember.

  1. Are there any specific health products and foods you use / eat on a daily basis?

I take vitamins and drink aminos in my water everyday! The aminos help with the muscle soreness, I won’t leave home without it.

  1. What is the best fitness advice you have ever been given by a trainer?

Drink lots of water! I tend to love caffeine and get dehydrated when I’m training if I do not drink enough water.
