Guruji’s Favourite Asana – Eka Pada Sirsasana at the age of 81
One of the benefits of Yoga is rejuvenation. This long tradition is considered to aid practitioner to regain youth, good health and vigour naturally. This does not only apply physically, but emotionally and mentally.
How does Yoga work then? Does that mean we no longer need to seek the Fountain of Youth, spend thousands on cosmetics, facials, or even advanced medical treatments?

Discipline
Guruji wakes up 4am and sings classical Indian music for an hour and reads books and replies to all his letters in writing
Diet
Guruji only eats solid food once a day. He has stopped eating rice for more than 10 years but eats rice on special occasions and family functions. His favourite food is dry fruits and fresh fruits.
Artisticity
Many people don’t know Guruji is a professional singer and music conductor. His daughter, Dr Kumari Lakshmi is also a singer and piano player and Guruma Sugatha Kumari plays violin. His son, Yogananth, plays classical drums mirudangam. All Guruji’s performance and lectures will start with songs compiled and lyrics written by himself about the benefits of practising Yoga.

Awareness
Guruji is a simple man and he walks on bare foot for 25 years. When he went to teach in Australia and Singapore people called him as “The Bare Foot Yogi”.
Passion
Guruji teaches 6 hours a day. While many gurus are retiring from teaching, he spends his time mostly on Yoga practice, teaching and conducting awareness camps and lectures.
Paternalism
Guruji takes on challenging cases and gives them Yoga therapy training. His training shows results on autistic kids, kids and children affected by polio, AIDS and cancer patients.
